Now, according to a new report from insider Elliotte Friedman, Ryan O'Reilly may be the first name moved out of Nashville, as he revealed that the team would consider an offer on ROR.
"They are going to at least consider it under 2 conditions," revealed Friedman on Hockey Night in Canada. "Number one the offer has got to be something that really excites them, it really has to be a great offer, and number two it has to be something that O'Reilly would agree to."
The most intriguing part of that entire report is that O'Reilly doesn't have any type of protection on his new contract, but according to Friedman, the team will treat him like he does, and only deal him to a place that he accepts.
"He signed a 4 year deal and there was no protection in there," said Friedman. "No trade or no movement clause or anything like that... but he is being treated as if he has a no move clause."
That goes to show just how much respect the Predators and their front office have for the veteran, but if he sees that he clearly doesn't have a chance to win in Nashville, it would be a shock to see him not want out of it.
At this point, Nashville are 13-22-7 on the season as they have just passed the half way mark, and with the team sitting 14th in the conference and almost 15 points out of a Wild Card spot, if the team aren't willing to move O'Reilly, it's very tough to see how their season plays out.
