New York Head Coach Patrick Roy Reacts To Ridiculous No-Goal Against The Islanders

The New York Islanders were on the receiving end of a controversial call on Monday night, with the officials deeming there was goaltender interference on a last second goal that would have seen them defeat Columbus by a score of 4-3.
While there was contact, it was marginal at best from
Kyle Palmieri, as
Elvis Merzlikins initiated most of the contact, and by the time that the goal was scored, Palmeri was nowhere near the goaltender or the crease.
Unsurprisingly, most fans on social media disagreed with the call on the ice, and even after replay officials in Toronto took a look, they confirmed what the majority believed to be an incorrect call.
One of those people was Head Coach Patrick Roy, who put those replay officials and the league on blast after a point was blatantly stolen from them in their chase for a Stanley Cup Playoffs spot.
If Toronto is afraid to overturn calls made by their referee, we don't need Toronto.
Roy wasn't the only one incensed at the call either, as Palmeri reacted to the call with much more colourful language.
«I think it was f**king embarrassing I guess the goalie needs 5 minutes to get reset and ready for the shot. It looked like the ref couldn't wait to wave it off.»
Ultimately, most can agree that the wrong decision was made on the ice and even after a review it was not fixed, so now, we await the backlash from the wider NHL audience on Tuesday as well as the league itself, who certainly won't be happy with some of the comments from New York's side.
