Brennan Othmann has changed his habits during the offseason. This year, the forward started training with a new group, as the New York Rangers prospect felt it was right to do so. The names involved are nothing short of extraordinary, as he laced up the skates with Gabriel Landeskog, Connor McDavid, and Quinton Byfield.
You need new experiences to grow in life. For
Brennan Othmann, it seems that he has the same thought process.
Rather than relying on the old methods, which didn't fetch him the results he wanted in the NHL, he's changed up his practice habits and who he practices with.
Last season, played 22 games in the NHL with the Rangers (
he was called upn February) and didn't make as big an impact as he'd liked. He'd score 2 points and would play the majority of the year in the AHL with the Hartford Wolfpack.
Brennan Othmann's Injury and Return to the Lineup
His time in the AHL saw him score 12-8-20 in 27 games with the Wolfpack.
With help from the likes of Gabriel Landeskog, Quinton Byfield, Connor McDavid,
Sean Durzi, and
Leon Draisaitl, maybe he has a chance?
He'd recover from his ten-week absence in February 2025 and would return to form, as we've mentioned, scoring 20 points in 27 games.
But it wasn't good enough to take a roster spot from
Brett Berard or even Matt Rempe.
With the laundry list of NHL superstars listed above, is he gearing up to make life difficult for his fellow prospects?
If he wants to make the Rangers lineup, he'll have to.
