The last week in New York has been nothing short of absolutely shocking, and with Chris Kreider's name being revealed in trade talks, absolutely anything could happen throughout this season.
While things aren't progressing quickly in trade talks, General Manager Chris Drury hasn't shut down the rumours yet, signalling that unless things get clicking in a hurry, talks will indeed pick up.
Now, in his first time speaking since those reports emerged, Kreider has made a shocking point, as instead of talking about the potential of him being traded, he simply began listing off the health issues that he's been dealing with in recent times.
It's unclear if this was an intentional tactic from Kreider, or if the topic came up naturally, but given that this is the first time in a long time he's even been linked to a trade, the timing of the statement is suspicious to say the least.
On the surface, this Rangers team has been relatively drama free as of late, especially given they play in the world's biggest media market, but with this and Jacob Trouba's antics in the off-season, the cracks are beginning to show in the Big Apple.
Ultimately though, Drury has likely already made up his mind on Kreider's future, and while this may limit the teams interested in the veteran star, there should be enough interest league wide to move him if that's what the GM decides.
