Chris Kreider is currently the longest tenured New York Ranger, but after a poor season in 2024/25, it appears his stint with the team is coming to an end.

The New York Rangers 2024/25 campaign has been nothing short of a disaster, and with one of the pre-season favourites set to miss the Stanley Cup Playoffs completely, changes have to be coming in the summer.
Now, one of those potential changes has been identified, as veteran Chris Kreider is seemingly as good as done after a terrible season of his own, with the organization likely trying to infuse the team with more young talent rather than holding onto struggling veterans.
After 50, 39 and 35 goals over the past three seasons coming into this year, Kreider has tallied just 20 goals and 25 points in 63 games this season, all while carrying a -7 differential.
On top of that, the once stellar pairing of he and Mika Zibanejad that helped the team to two Eastern Conference Finals appearances in the last three years has struggled completely, with neither player excelling in 2024/25.
It's not just analysts that believe this either, as fans have become increasingly sick of the veteran forward, with many calling for his job throughout the season, despite his lengthy tenure with the team.
Ultimately, Kreider was once a great player for this organization and was a key piece of helping them find any playoff success in the past five years, but his time in New York has simply come and gone as he's not the player he once was, so don't be shocked to see the first move the team make in the summer be a Chris Kreider trade.
