Rangers' Top Prospect Picked In First Round Suspended After Intense On-Ice Clash

The NCHC has given a one-game suspension to Zee Buium and EJ Emery following their brawl towards the end of Saturday's contest. The altercation led to Emery being given a two-minute penalty for roughing and a game misconduct.

Emery, an 18-year-old defenseman, has played an underwhelming season after committing himself to the development of his defensive abilities.

Offensively, not much is observed from him, and he has one assist for the University of North Dakota through the first 29 games. He has also posted 34 penalty minutes and has a +4 plus/minus.

Standing at the towering height of 6-foot-3 and weighing 185 pounds, Emery was drafted by the New York Rangers as the 30th overall pick from the draft held in 2024.

He is one of the many bright Rangers players for the future because the club is constructing towards a long-term goal and is also a good NHL club, although they have had their issues this season.

Meanwhile, the Four Nations Face-Off ends tomorrow and the Rangers embark on the final stretch of their NHL season this Saturday. The club is also positioned for the NHL's looming trade deadline, the make-or-break moment for them in the standings.
