Travis Green Reveals What he Really Thinks of the NHL Fining Nick Cousins & the Senators

There was a ton of controversy in the NHL on Friday as it was revealed that the league was investigating the Ottawa Senators for their actions before Game 3 against the Toronto Maple Leafs.

It was revealed that Nick Cousins had been firing pucks at Anthony Stolarz before the game which is technically forbidden by the league.

As a result, the NHL came down hard on the Senators, fining Cousins $2000, while also fining the organization an additional $25K. All things considered, pretty harsh.

Today, Senators head coach Travis Green spoke about the punishment sent down by the league and offered his take on all of it.

Unsurprisingly, he had a diplomatic response and noted that the league can do what it wants. At the same time, his players were never directed to do such a thing and it has never been on their mind.

At the end of the day, the Maple Leafs are up 3-0 in the series and are very clearly the better team. They don't care about the petty stuff because they keep winning.

A win tonight would catapult them into the second round and it seems pretty clear that the Leafs are eager to get things going.

The Florida Panthers or the Tampa Bay Lightning await them and we cannot wait to see how all of this is going to end up playing out. No matter what, it is going to be legendary.

Hopefully, the Leafs finish off the series tonight and punch their ticket before the Senators begin to feel like they have some life left.
