Veteran forward gearing up for trade; changes agents once again
Ottawa Senators forward Vladimir Tarasenko may find himself on the way out of the nation's capital in the coming weeks as the trade deadline approaches.
Last summer, Tarasenko waited quite a while before putting pen to paper on a contract and even fired his agent five days into the free agency period and now, he's switched agents once again.
According to TSN's Pierre LeBrun, Tarasenko is now being represented by Craig Oster of Newport Sports and that the 32-year-old will likely be traded by the Senators before March 8th.
"Vladimir Tarasenko has switched agents for the second time in seven months, now repped by Craig Oster of Newport Sports. There's obviously work to be done ahead of the March 8 trade deadline with the pending UFA winger likely getting dealt by Ottawa. He's got a full NTC." LeBrun said.
Tarasenko, a native of Yaroslavl, only signed a one-year deal with Ottawa last summer, hoping that he'd be a key piece to a contending team with the Senators. Well, the opposite happened and while Tarasenko has played well at times, the Senators currently sit dead last in the Atlantic Division.
In 45 games this season, Tarasenko has recorded 33 points (13 goals, 20 assists), 12 penalty minutes and is a plus-11.
