Penguins place 29-year-old forward on waivers
It's been a very active week on the wire and now a 29-year-old forward has been put on waivers.
According to Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman, the Pittsburgh Penguins have placed forward Vinnie Hinostroza on waivers for the purpose of assigning him to the American Hockey League.
"Hinostroza (PIT) on waivers" Friedman said.
Hinostroza, a native of Chicago, has appeared in 12 games for the Penguins this season, putting up three points (one goal, two assists), four penalty minutes and is a minus-one. Meanwhile, in five AHL games, he has four points.
In other related news, Winnipeg Jets forward Dominic Toninato has cleared waivers and will be assigned to the American Hockey League's Manitoba Moose.
