Elliotte Friedman Drops Bombshell Hint About MacKinnon's True Intentions for Crosby This Summer
Sidney Crosby has limited time left in the NHL, and now it appears Nathan MacKinnon could use their time with Team Canada to lure him to the Western Conference.
The rumours around Sidney Crosby's future in the NHL have persisted for quite some time now, and that speculation is reportedly set to heat up again as Nathan MacKinnon agreed to join Crosby and Team Canada for the 2025 IIHF World Championship.
Given the two are from the same home town and have a tremendous respect and friendship, MacKinnon has likely already tried to recruit Crosby to the Colorado Avalanche, but now, Elliotte Friedman suggests that will continue in Sweden and Denmark over the next few weeks as Team Canada chase yet another gold medal.
«Pittsburgh just made a coaching change because Kyle Dubas and Mike Sullivan disagreed on the path from here. Sullivan wants to win sooner, Dubas sees more of a rebuild.
You don't think #MacKinnon's gonna be allover Crosby saying «Want to miss more years in the playoffs?» Come to the Avalanche and play with me and we rule the league from the Western Conference.»

After the disappointing end to Colorado's season, the recruiting may get more aggressive than ever, and with the dream of both to play together, with the changes coming in Pittsburgh, things are potentially more realistic than ever.
Ultimately though, Crosby has shown immense loyalty to the Penguins throughout his career, but with Kyle Dubas clearly looking towards the future, there's a chance that the loyalty finally comes undone and Crosby does what's best for his final chance to win a fourth Stanley Cup.
