After Monday's fiasco where he was supposed to be placed on waivers, but ended up not going on, the St. Louis Blues have officially placed former first-round pick Jakub Vrana on the wire, according to Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman.
Vrana, a native of Prague, Czechia, has appeared in 19 games with the St. Louis Blues this season, putting up six points (two goals, four assists), eight penalty minutes and is a minus-five.
Whether it was having Vrana on waivers or potentially a trade, it was pretty clear on Monday that his time with the St. Louis Blues organization was over and there should be quite a few teams interested in his services that'll look at placing a claim on him before Wednesday at 2 p.m. ET.
In other waiver related news, Dmitri Samorukov of the Pittsburgh Penguins and Boris Katchuouk of the Chicago Blackhawks have both cleared and will be assigned to their respective American Hockey League affiliates.
