Nothing materialized at the trade deadline in early-March and again, nothing happened at the NHL Entry Draft in Nashville, but it appears that as the days pass, we're getting closer to Karlsson being dealt.
Karlsson has been linked to several teams over the last few weeks and even months at this point, including the Carolina Hurricanes, Seattle Kraken, Toronto Maple Leafs, among others.
Karlsson, 33, is coming off one of the best offensive seasons we've seen from a defenceman in NHL history. In 82 games, the Landsbro, Sweden native put up 101 points (25 goals, 76 assists), 36 penalty minutes and was a minus-26. He has four years remaining on his contract with a cap hit of $11.5 million.
