Last season, the NHL banished special themed nights, and while all of them were effected, it's Pride Night and the support of the LGBTQ community that was likely the cause, with players like Ivan Provorov, Eric Staal and James Reimer behind the pushback against it.
Now, there continues to be support of it, with Seattle Kraken Head Coach Dan Byslma calling out fans that have a problem with the team supporting the cause, as he and many others continue to support it despite not having an official night that involves jersey's being worn on the ice.
Over the weekend, Macklin Celebrini joined in with the support for the first time in his young career, wearing rainbow tape during warmups proudly, as the Vancouver native addressed that on Monday.
In 33 games played this season, Celebrini has posted an impressive 13 goals and 29 points, and finds himself well on the way to winning the Calder Trophy for Rookie of the Year, and with this Sharks team now being one of the most enjoyable teams to watch in the NHL, it's safe to say that the league have a new star on their hands that they are capable of marketing to the world.
