Seattle Kraken fielding offers for 2022 first round pick
Not too long ago, Seattle Kraken forward Shane Wright was a highly touted prospect whom everyone was looking forward to drafting during his draft year in 2022 and while he failed to be picked at the number one spot, falling to number four, the Seattle Kraken, who hold his rights, were adamant they would make the partnership work.
Now, almost two years later, as the 2024 NHL Entry Draft approaches, it appears that teams have inquired about the availability of Wright's services, at least according to David Pagnotta of TheFourthPeriod.
Have a look:
There have been many rumours surrounding Wright even since before he was drafted; from acting entitled to not being coachable, Wright didn't get off on the right foot immediately. Would a change of scenery benefit Wright and his development and the Kraken, who missed the playoffs this past season and appear to be in the midst of a retool, not a rebuild?
The twenty-year-old had respectable numbers while playing in fifty-nine games for the Coachella Firebirds of the American Hockey League (22 goals, 25 assists, 18 PIMS, & a +6), but whether those numbers equate to success at the next level remains to be seen.
