Seattle Kraken's Leading Scorer Jared McCann Reportedly Linked to Canadian Team

Jared McCann, who is the leading scorer on the Seattle Kraken, has been linked to the Toronto Maple Leafs, with whom he already had a brief tenure earlier in his playing career, though he never actually hit the ice with them.
The Toronto Maple Leafs have already undergone major changes following their latest postseason disappointment, losing in 6 games in the ECSF to the divisional foe Florida Panthers.
Their biggest storyline so far has been the departure of Mitch Marner, who is now with the Vegas Golden Knights after a major sign and trade deal. However, they have managed to re-sign both John Tavares and Matthew Knies to new contracts.
Maple Leafs GM Brad Treliving, who spoke about needing to shake up the "DNA" of the team after their playoff loss, could be interested in bringing back an ex-Leaf into the fold.
Jared McCann, who is the leading scorer with the Seattle Kraken and who briefly was a member of the Maple Leafs in 2021 (though never actually suiting up for them), is reportedly on Toronto's radar via Leafs Latest.
The Seattle Kraken remain open to moving forward Jared McCann this summer.
McCann has two years left on his contract with a $5 million cap hit and holds a 10-team no-trade list. The 29-year-old is drawing interest from a few clubs, including the Maple Leafs, who continue to explore options to bolster their top six.
He was briefly a member of the Maple Leafs, having been acquired from the Penguins on July 17, 2021, in exchange for prospect Filip Hållander and a 2023 seventh-round pick. Just four days later, however, Seattle claimed him in the expansion draft-before he ever suited up for Toronto.
