According to Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet, extension talks between Dubas and the Leafs, which once appeared to be on track, have gone amiss; take a look:
There could be multiple reasons for this; as Dubas stated yesterday, he had to talk to his family before deciding on his future, but, oddly, talks have just stopped altogether.
It seems it might not be Dubas's decision after all as to whether or not he returns. In any case, finding a new general manager at this point, or rather a better one would be.
Part of me wonders if this is a negotiation tactic by Dubas to bring things to the media, but if it is, the Leads should walk away from him in a heartbeat.
