A Potential Calle Jarnkrok and David Kampf Trade Appears Likelier Than Ever

Toronto Maple Leafs forwards Calle Jarnkrok and David Kampf are currently on the trading block, and it seems like the team is still making an effort to move on.
Calle Jarnkrok and David Kampf were not productive for the Toronto Maple Leafs last season, and there have been many fans calling for a trade.
In fact, Brad Treliving attempted to move these players during the summer, but nothing materialized as teams just weren't chomping at the bit.
Now, the season is almost upon us, and both players remain on the roster. This has led to some major questions about what Brad Treliving's plan is going forward.
What's next for Calle Jarnkrok and David Kampf
According to David Pagnotta of The Fourth Period, despite the difficulties when it comes to trading these players, Treliving still wants to make a move.
Despite nothing coming in the summer, forwards David Kämpf and Calle Järnkrok REMAIN available for trade.
Whether or not the Maple Leafs will be able to make a trade happen still remains to be seen. Although training camp could actually ramp up the market.
If the Leafs can trade Kampf and Jarnkrok, they will be able to open up some cap space. Furthermore, they can open up spots on the lineup for more deserving players.
If a trade doesn't happen, then the Leafs will either have to resort to waivers or, worse, a buyout.
Overall, this is not a great situation for the franchise, and it will be interesting to see how Treliving navigates it all over the coming weeks.
Perhaps Jarnkrok and Kampf will be able to cut through the noise, and actually prove why they deserve a long-term spot on this roster.
