This was confirmed by Frank Seravalli of Daily Faceoff Live, who made the bold claim that there has been lots of talk about Ekblad in a Maple Leafs jersey.
If the team were somehow able to sign him, this would be a major development for the Maple Leafs, and fans would be extremely happy. However, the Panthers are still trying to make it work.
