Anthony Stolarz Sparks Injury Concern After Missing Practice Due to Collision with Ridly Greig
Toronto Maple Leafs goaltender Anthony Stolarz was shaken up after being hit by Ridly Greig and today, he missed practice much to the chagrin of fans.
Last night, Anthony Stolarz was sensational against the Ottawa Senators as he made huge saves that helped propel the team to a 6-2 victory in Game 1 of their first round series.
However, things took a turn in the third period when the goalie was ran over by Senators forward Ridly Greig who made sure he caught the goaltender in the abdomen.
According to Chris Johnston of TSN, Stolarz was not at practice today and presumably, it is because he was shaken up because of what went down.
However, it could also be possible that the goaltender is getting the morning off for maintenance since he had to stop 33 shots last night.
That is also a real possibility and head coach Craig Berube will be giving us an update on that immediately after practice.
As you can imagine, fans and the media are very interested in that update and whether or not more bad news will come about for the Maple Leafs goaltender.
Anthony Stolarz dominates for the Toronto Maple Leafs
Dating back to the regular season, Anthony Stolarz is on a nine-game winning streak which is pretty spectacular, and he continues to showcase his talent.
Overall, he is a truly sensational goaltender and we love what we have seen from him so far. If he were to go down with an injury, it would be a huge loss for the team.
If he continues to play, then the Ottawa Senators are in for a very difficult series that may not go exactly how they have wanted it to.
First things first, the Leafs must win Game 2 and take a 2-0 series lead heading into Ottawa. That is what the team really needs.
