Brady Tkachuk Reveals What He Really Thinks of Auston Matthews

Auston Matthews and Brady Tkachuk are rivals when suiting up for the Toronto Maple Leafs and Ottawa Senators, but other times, they are actually teammates.
Brady Tkachuk is the captain of the Ottawa Senators, and therefore, he is someone that Toronto Maple Leafs fans aren't too fond of.
He and Auston Matthews have quite the rivalry going on, and at this stage, it is clear that Matthews is winning the rivalry, especially when you factor in the playoffs from this past season.
That said, these two aren't always rivals. In fact, this past season, they were teammates on Team USA during the 4 Nations Face-Off. They will be teammates again this Winter, at the Olympics.
Brady Tkachuk speaks on Auston Matthews
On Tuesday, Tkachuk had a conversation with 'Leafs Morning Take,' where he offered up his unfiltered thoughts on Auston Matthews.
The forward was extremely complimentary of Matthews and made sure to recognize Auston's abilities as a player, captain, and human being.
He's been so good. He's just so funny and such a great guy to be around. It was pretty awesome for me to be able to learn from him - him as a captain, and what makes him one of the best players in the NHL. I was super impressed with how dialed-in and professional he was, and how even-keeled he stayed. It almost felt like nothing bothers him. He's going to go out there and lead by example with his work ethic. I think a lot of the things he does go under the radar. He's such an important piece for the team, and I was very lucky to be able to learn from him as well.
Going into this season, it is going to be fascinating to see how things play out between Auston Matthews and the Toronto Maple Leafs.
The Olympics will also be interesting to watch, as this will be the first time we see NHL players at the Olympics since 2014.
Tkachuk and Matthews will prove to be great teammates, and we could even see them play on the same line at times.
Whatever the case, the Maple Leafs and Senators rivalry will always exist, and it will forever be fun to watch.
