Going into the playoffs, there was this sense that he might not be able to get into any games as he was playing some poor hockey.

Fortunately, the playoffs have turned Simon Benoit into a beast of a player. He got the assist on Max Domi's Game 2 overtime winner and on Thursday night, he scored the overtime winner to give the Leafs a 3-0 series lead over the Ottawa Senators.

After the game, head coach Craig Berube spoke to the media about the win and how the team is feeling right about now.

Overall, he gave a huge compliment to Simon Benoit, acknowledging just how good the defenseman has been on both sides of the ice throughout the first three games of the postseason.

As it stands, the Toronto Maple Leafs have won eight games in a row dating back to the regular season and it feels like they just cannot lose right now.

In overtime, their speed works to their advantage and they are beating good teams. The Senators can't seem to overcome whatever is going on here.

Whether or not Simon Benoit keeps this kind of play up remains to be seen. Regardless, there is no doubt that the Leafs are looking like winners.

Saturday, they will have an opportunity to end the series in Ottawa in Game 4. The Senators will be motivated to make sure that doesn't happen.
