Dougie Hamilton rejected a trade last Summer: Was it the Maple Leafs?

New Jersey Devils defenseman Dougie Hamilton is on the verge of being traded, but last summer, he rejected a trade that could have been perfect for him.
Dougie Hamilton is a defenseman who is likely to be on his way out of New Jersey, especially since he was a healthy scratch on Saturday.
The Toronto Maple Leafs want in on Hamilton, and they would love to make a deal happen at a low cost, with some salary retained on the side.
However, Hamilton is picky, and his track record allows him to be. In fact, the defenseman has been on the market since the Summer, but he has turned down deals that could have been good for him.
Dougie Hamilton didn't like the San Jose Sharks
According to Elliotte Friedman, the San Jose Sharks tried to acquire Hamilton last season. In the end, the defenseman said no.
In the summer San Jose did try to trade for him, and Hamilton blocked that move; the way it's going now for the Sharks maybe he changes his mind
This is good news for Leafs fans, because it would be one less team for them to compete with. Although given the season the Sharks are having, maybe Hamilton will have a change of heart.
Whatever the case may be, the Hamilton sweepstakes are in full swing, and things are about to get very interesting for everyone involved.
The trade deadline is on March 6th this season, and numerous teams will be taking a look at Hamilton, although he might be traded sooner.
Either way, this is a player that the Leafs will be taking a hard look at going forward.
