Elliotte Friedman Confirms Toronto Maple Leafs' Plans for Jack Roslovic
Free agent forward Jack Roslovic has yet to be signed this offseason, and with the Toronto Maple Leafs showing interest, Elliotte Friedman has decided to weigh in.
The Toronto Maple Leafs have made a ton of moves this offseason, and the vast majority of these moves have had to do with the team's bottom six.
Nicolas Roy, Matias Maccelli, and Dakota Joshua are all players who will most likely play on either the third or fourth line next season.
Having said that, there are other bottom six players that the Leafs are considering right now, including Jack Roslovic, who is coming off a 22-goal season with the Carolina Hurricanes.
Jack Roslovic and the Toronto Maple Leafs
Recent reports have suggested that the Leafs are no longer interested in Roslovic. However, that appears not to be the case.
According to Elliotte Friedman on '32 Thoughts,' the Leafs are one of five to six teams interested in Roslovic. Unfortunately, in order to afford him, they would have to move some money around.
Another player we talked about for Toronto was Jack Roslovic; there's still a few teams looking at him; I've heard 5 or 6 [teams]; we know with Toronto, they're trying to move money around
The Leafs just paid Nick Robertson close to $2 million per season, which completely destroys their cap space.
However, with Robertson potentially on the way out, there might be some space for Roslovic after all. At the end of the day, the Leafs will have to make some tough choices.
It is good to have Elliotte Friedman back reporting on free agency. Without him, things have been especially boring.
Only time will tell whether or not the Maple Leafs will make another big swing with training camp just about a month away.
