Elliotte Friedman reveals another NHL GM firing could be coming

Matty Beniers and Lane Lambert just got a loud warning about what the Kraken plan to do next.
Seattle is done acting patient.
That is the real takeaway from the latest Elliotte Friedman talk. The Kraken want to flex their muscle, and the frustration inside the organization sounds very real.
Not because they lack money. Not because they lack staff. It is the opposite.
Seattle reportedly does very well on the business side, has major resources, leans heavily into data, and now appears fed up with the gap between all of that and the results on the ice.
That is why this matters. This does not sound like a team waiting for a slow build to maybe work one day.
It sounds like a team preparing to move hard and move soon.
Friedman on 32TP says Kraken want to flex their muscle, they are a data driven organization, they do very well on revenue side of operations, they have a lot of money & resources and their lack of on ice success is a source of enormous frustration & they want to change that ASAP.
Friedman's added detail makes it hit even more. Seattle already took a big swing at Artemi Panarin and missed.
That alone tells you the Kraken are not thinking small.
Friedman adds aside from swinging and missing on Panarin, they thought about offer-sheeting Mason McTavish but decided against it in the end.

The Mason McTavish angle says the same thing. Friedman said they also thought about an offer sheet there before backing off in the end.
That is not the behavior of a front office looking for safe, tidy little upgrades.
That is a club hunting for impact and looking at every possible lane to get it.
And honestly, it makes sense. Seattle has enough infrastructure now to stop selling patience as the whole plan.
At some point, an organization with strong revenue, deep resources, and heavy belief in its own process has to demand more from the hockey side. That moment seems to be here.
This is where the pressure changes. The Kraken are no longer just a neat expansion story with a nice building and smart people upstairs.
They are becoming a team that will be expected to swing, spend, and push.
That also means this summer could get uncomfortable for other clubs. If Seattle really wants to change things ASAP, then free agency, trade talks, and even younger targets may all be in play.
The message is pretty clear now. The Kraken are tired of being admired for everything except winning.
That tends to be when front offices stop nibbling and start coming for bigger names.
