Jay Rosehill is someone who doesn't mince words when it comes to the Toronto Maple Leafs, and that is why fans listen to what he has to say.
On 'Leafs Morning Take,' he offers a realistic view of what the coaches are doing, and what the players are doing. After two straight losses, you can imagine he has some opinions.
This morning, the former enforcer had some interesting comments about how the Leafs are playing right now, and how their results aren't a surprise.
Jay Rosehill diagnoses the Toronto Maple Leafs' problems
In Rosehill's mind, the issue is very simple. The team is treating each game like it's shinny hockey or a simple summer skate. There is no urgency.
Many of the team's best players barely put in effort during the preseason, and now, they look completely unprepared to play regular-season hockey.
For Rosehill, the Leafs will only be able to turn their season around once they go out and start putting in some effort night in and night out.
Tonight, the Toronto Maple Leafs are playing the Nashville Predators, and they are currently up 2-0 in the first period.
Of course, this doesn't mean much as they gave up a 2-0 lead to the Detroit Red Wings on Saturday. They still need to be careful.
Only time will tell whether or not the Maple Leafs take Rosehill's advice, and start to dig a little bit deeper this season.
Overall, this is a team that should go on a run in the postseason. Unfortunately, they are not playing that way.
