Insider Claims It's Confirmed for Brad Marchand and the Toronto Maple Leafs
Free agent forward Brad Marchand just won the Stanley Cup with the Florida Panthers, but the Toronto Maple Leafs are looking to make a huge splash.
Brad Marchand is projected to make upwards of $8 million per season on his next deal, and he also has the potential to get a four-year contract to boot.
Overall, this would be massive for the 37-year-old who finished second in Conn Smythe voting during the Stanley Cup Finals this past season.
Going into free agency, the Toronto Maple Leafs are expected to heavily pursue the veteran superstar, and based on their available cap space, it seems like they won't mind giving in to his every demand.

NHL insider Nick Kypreos was on 'Leafs Morning Take' this morning, where he seemed to be convinced of the Marchand-Maple Leafs talks.
In the video clip below, the insider emphatically stated that he thinks Marchand to the Leafs is practically a done deal and that the Leafs can help the forward make up for being underpaid with the Boston Bruins.
I don't know how he doesn't end up a Maple Leaf, let me put it to you that way.
Of course, Florida Panthers general manager Bill Zito has already claimed that he would love to have Marchand, Sam Bennett, and Aaron Ekblad return in short order.
However, given their tight cap space, this might not be possible. Although given recent results, Marchand would have every reason to want to return.
If Marchand did come to the Toronto Maple Leafs, it would be the ultimate betrayal of the Boston Bruins, and it is hard to imagine him doing it.
But if he does, then Leafs fans are going to love him, and they will be hoping for a repeat of his performance with the Panthers this past season.
