Former Toronto Maple Leafs President Brendan Shanahan recently took a job with the NHL, although it appears as though a team could be hiring him soon.

Brendan Shanahan was the President of the Toronto Maple Leafs for about a decade, where he implemented his now infamous "Shanaplan."
Unfortunately, things did not work out as intended for the Leafs. While they have been a solid regular-season contender, their playoff results have not been what they need to be.
This past summer, Shanahan was let go by MLSE, who let his contract expire. Just a few weeks ago, the former President was hired by the NHL in the Hockey Operations Department.
However, there has been a sense that Shanahan is still looking for a job in the front office of an NHL franchise. After all, there are plenty of teams that could use someone with experience.

Where is Brendan Shanahan going next?

According to Nick Kypreos of Sportsnet, there are teams out there showing interest in Shanahan, including fellow Atlantic Division rival, the Buffalo Sabres.
Kypreos went on to say that the Chicago Blackhawks and Nashville Predators are two other teams that are looking into the former President.
The most obvious team that may be interested in him is the Buffalo Sabres,"; "It sounds like Shanahan would consider taking a job there"; "If not Buffalo, what about Chicago?" "The Nashville Predators are another team"
This would be good news for Shanahan, although given what we've seen with the Leafs, it is hard to say whether or not he is actually a good hire.
For teams like the Sabres, the goal is to just make the playoffs for the first time in over a decade, and Shanahan could help with that.
Over the coming months, it will be interesting to see if he is able to secure a new job.
