An insider says that the Toronto Maple Leafs could look to move on from a depth forward this summer as they try to revamp their bottom-six.

The Toronto Maple Leafs have taken some strides forward to make their roster better this summer through the free agent market. Maple Leafs General Manager Brad Treliving re-signed Max Domi before he hit the open market and brought in Chris Tanev, Dakota Mermis as well as a pair of 2024 Stanley Cup champions - Oliver Ekman-Larsson and Anthony Stolarz.
Other than re-signing Max Domi, Treliving hasn't done much with his forward group, but one member of the bottom-six could reportedly find his way out of Toronto at some point this summer.
According to Nick Kypreos, there's a good chance the Toronto Maple Leafs 'cut bait' on Czech forward David Kampf and that the team's bottom-six needs some attention as we head into the new season in a few months.
"The bottom-six forwards need some attention as well. Is David Kampf still in the plans to lead the Leafs' checking line? There's a good chance they cut bait there as well." Kypreos said.

Kampf, 29, has been with the Toronto Maple Leafs since 2021 when he signed with the team as an unrestricted free agent. During his time in Toronto over the last three seasons, the Chomutov, Czechia native has set new career-highs in goals, assists and points, but in 2023-24, saw his production drop off by nearly 30%.
In 78 games during the regular season, Kampf had 19 points (eight goals, 11 assists), 18 penalty minutes and was a minus-four. He went on to add one goal in seven playoff games as the Maple Leafs were eliminated in the first round at the hands of the Boston Bruins.
Training camps around the National Hockey League are set to open in nine-to-ten weeks from now and it's going to be interesting to see if David Kampf still has a role with the organization or if he'll be moved prior to opening night in October.
