Jack Roslovic Reportedly Lost Out On $10 Million While Holding Out for the Maple Leafs

Edmonton Oilers forward Jack Roslovic refused to sign a deal earlier in the summer, and as it turns out, the Toronto Maple Leafs may have cost him millions.
Jack Roslovic was one of the many players on the Toronto Maple Leafs' radar during the Summer. In the end, however, they decided not to sign him.
Up until last week, Roslovic remained without a contract, and it had a lot of people wondering whether or not he would be signed this season.
Thankfully, he ended up with the Edmonton Oilers, albeit at a discount. He signed for one year, at a salary of $1.5 million.
Jack Roslovic made a big mistake for the Toronto Maple Leafs
According to David Pangotta of The Fourth Period, Roslovic messed up his bank account this summer, as he had a three-year, $9 million deal on the table from the Oilers.
However, he held out, thinking teams like the Toronto Maple Leafs would give him a better deal.
He had I think a 3 year offer on the table in the summer...from the Oilers, worth considerably more; I think it was in the $3m range; he thought he was getting a better deal somewhere else
As a result of this holdout, Roslovic may have cost himself a total of $10 million, which is pretty large, if you ask us.
It just goes to show that the NHL can be a very cruel business and that you can't think of yourself too highly. Otherwise, you might fake yourself out of a small fortune.
That said, the Edmonton Oilers are a good team, and if Jack Roslovic has a good season, he could be rewarded with a Stanley Cup.
At the end of the day, we wish him well, although we do kind of wish he was on the Toronto Maple Leafs.
