When the Toronto Maple Leafs drafted London Knights Right Winger Easton Cowan 28th overall in the 2023 National Hockey League Entry Draft, numerous fans were dissatisfied and dismayed at the pick as projections indicated that the 18-year-old was expected to be selected no earlier than the second round, and quite a few were not even familiar with the Mount Brydges, Ontario native. However, after a season where the 5'11, 185-pound youngster has broken numerous records, Maple Leafs faithful should be extremely excited for the future on the right side of the lineup for years to come.

While the London Knights have been the perennial organization where many current National Hockey League superstars have learned to hone their craft, only Cowan can brag that he's been one of the best to dawn a Knights uniform, as he now holds the record for the most consecutive games with a point with thirty-four.

Have a look:

Often, it can be said that success at the junior level doesn't always dictate how a player will do at the professional level, however, if the success that Cowan is currently experiencing continues, there is no telling what his ceiling is or how well he will do if the time comes and he plays for the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Whatever Maple Leaf management decides to do with Cowan going forward, it should be noted that it will likely be in the best interest of his development, but you can bet that heading into rookie and training camp next season, all eyes will be on the youngster again to see how far he's progressed and whether he can contribute today.
