Maple Leafs GM Brad Treliving makes a surprising decision right before the Olympics

Toronto Maple Leafs general manager Brad Treliving was facing tremendous pressure to make a move prior to the Winter Olympics, and he has made up his mind.
Brad Treliving has one of the most difficult jobs in the entire NHL, and it's hard to be envious of the position he has been thrust into as of late.
Having said that, the Toronto Maple Leafs are likely to be sellers at the trade deadline. They are a team that is six points out of a playoff spot, and that is not going to be easy to overcome.
Yesterday at 3 PM, the NHL instituted its Olympic roster freeze. From now until the end of the Olympics, teams are not allowed to make any moves.
With that being said, there was lots of anticipation to see whether or not Treliving would come through with any moves to improve his team.
Brad Treliving opts not to make a trade
In the end, the general manager made the surprising decision not to make any trades, despite the overwhelming interest in forwards like Bobby McMann.
The decision came following a three-game winning streak for the Leafs, in which they looked like a team with a realistic shot at making the postseason.
The Maple Leafs are in a situation where actively buying for the postseason is probably the wrong move, but at the same time, they must be thinking about the potential.
At the end of the day, Treliving is not in an enviable position, and over the course of the Olympics, he will have an opportunity to think about what's next.
It feels as though the Leafs are going to make some moves next month, although for now, we are just going to have to wait and see.
Either way, if you are a Maple Leafs fan, there is a lot to be intrigued by right about now.
