Toronto Maple Leafs goaltender Joseph Woll has struggled as of late, and tonight against the Florida Panthers, the team has offered up a bold strategy.

Joseph Woll has been the starting goalie for the Toronto Maple Leafs ever since Anthony Stolarz went down with his very own long-term ailment.
There have been times when Woll has been great, and other times when he has struggled. In fact, the last couple of outings for Woll have been rough.
Last week, he was pulled after allowing four goals on 17 shots against the Winnipeg Jets. A few nights later, he let in four goals on 25 shots against the New York Islanders.
Tonight, the Maple Leafs play against the Florida Panthers, and there is no denying that there is a case to be made to throw Dennis Hildeby between the pipes.

Who is the Leafs' starting goalie against the Florida Panthers?

As it turns out, that is not what Leafs head coach Craig Berube wants to do. Instead, the Maple Leafs are going to be going with Woll for tonight's game.
The netminder was in the starter's net at morning skate, and according to David Alter, that means the Leafs are planning on putting Woll in the crease.
Whether or not this gives the Maple Leafs a win tonight is something that very much remains to be seen, after all, the Panthers are a good team.
Woll has a goals-against average of 2.82 and a save percentage of .912. These numbers could be a lot better, and the Leafs are going to be counting on him.
It remains to be seen when Hildeby will get another start, especially since there are no back-to-backs right now. Perhaps Thursday against the Philadelphia Flyers would be the right time to play him.
Whatever the case may be, this is a huge moment for the Leafs, and they need some wins if they want to get into a playoff spot.
