The Toronto Maple Leafs have had some big decisions to make this season, and Matias Maccelli has reportedly been involved in numerous NHL trade rumors.

Matias Maccelli has had a rough go of things this season. It's been difficult for the forward to find a solid spot in the lineup, and head coach Craig Berube has often put him in the press box.
There was a stretch where Maccelli didn't play for three weeks. However, in 31 games this season, he has 16 points, which proves he is someone the Leafs should take seriously.
With that being said, Berube's treatment of the forward has led to rumors of a potential trade, especially with the deadline coming up in a few weeks.
In fact, the Edmonton Oilers are shopping Andrew Mangiapane, and there has been a sense that the Leafs could jump all over this.

Will the Maple Leafs trade Matias Maccelli

However, according to Elliotte Friedman, the Leafs are very unlikely to make a swap between Maccelli and Mangiapane. The Toronto native has just 11 points in 40 games, making him a non-factor for a team in need of offense like the Leafs.
I did have some people who said to me they kinda wondered if Toronto might do it, maybe a Maccelli kind of move, but I don't think Toronto's gonna do that; I don't think that's the case
At the end of the day, Maccelli is starting to come into his own with the Maple Leafs, and it would be a big mistake for the team to just trade him away.
The Leafs need some wins to make the postseason, and if you want to win games in the NHL, you are going to have to score some goals.
Maccelli can produce offense, and now that he is getting second-line opportunities, it appears as though the team is playing some truly inspired hockey.
Once William Nylander comes back, then the party can really get started in Toronto.
