Maple Leafs Target Jack Roslovic Dodges the Media as NHL Career Hangs in the Balance

Throughout free agency, the Toronto Maple Leafs have been showcasing interest in forward Jack Roslovic. However, a deal has yet to be made.

Overall, Roslovic is a solid forward who even had 22 goals last season. Unfortunately, he has seemingly priced himself out of the market by being too picky.

Recently, we revealed that the forward declined a contract with the Edmonton Oilers, which really does feel like a mistake.

Now, the Toronto Maple Leafs are closer than ever to finalizing their roster, and it seems like Roslovic is no longer in their plans. This has left the forward without a contract, and with the NHL season beginning on October 8th, his future hangs in the balance.

As it stands, Roslovic is still on the ice training, and he seems to be doing so in Columbus, where he used to play.

However, despite Aaron Portzline's request, the forward is refusing to speak to the media, which tells you all you need to know about his situation.

Overall, Roslovic's situation is one that we will continue to keep tabs on over the coming days and weeks. Perhaps the Maple Leafs will find a need for him soon.

Having said that, a player as good as Roslovic should be in the NHL, and it would be a shock if he had to go to the KHL or another European league.

Needless to say, this is going to send a very strong message to free agents in the future.
