Marc-Andre Fleury has finally addressed NHL comeback rumors, and Minnesota Wild fans are paying close attention.

The retired goalie is not completely closing the door.
At the end of the 2024-25 season, Marc-Andre Fleury officially stepped away from professional hockey.
After 21 NHL seasons and more than 1,000 games, many believed his career was truly over.
In recent weeks, however, speculation has intensified around the veteran goaltender.
Several league insiders now believe a return could be on the table.
Fleury has trained multiple times with the Minnesota Wild lately, quietly fueling talk of a possible comeback.
The timing is interesting with the NHL trade deadline set for March 6.

Marc-Andre Fleury and Minnesota Wild rumors intensify

Reports indicate the Wild are actively exploring trade options involving goaltender Jesper Wallstedt.
If Wallstedt is dealt before the deadline, a clear opening would emerge on the depth chart.
In that situation, Fleury becomes the obvious and experienced candidate to serve as the team's number two goalie.
His familiarity with the organization would make any transition seamless.
In a recent french interview shared by Le 5 à 7, Fleury addressed the speculation directly.
He said you should «never say never,» while also stressing that a return is not currently part of his plan.

That short statement has only added fuel to the conversation around the league. When a future Hall of Famer leaves even a small window open, attention naturally follows.
Fleury, 41, concluded his career with 1,051 NHL games played and 575 victories, placing him among the most successful goalies in league history.
His résumé includes three Stanley Cups and a Vezina Trophy.
For now, there is no official confirmation of contract discussions. Still, as March 6 approaches, this storyline could evolve quickly.
In the NHL, depth in goal often determines playoff success.
If Minnesota decides to reshape its roster, do not be surprised if Marc-Andre Fleury's name resurfaces in a very real way.
