Matthew Tkachuk Completely Disrespects the Toronto Maple Leafs for No Reason

Matthew Tkachuk is a player that a lot of Toronto Maple Leafs fans despise and for very good reason. He is a bit of a pest on the ice, and he knows how to talk a lot of trash.

During the seven-game second-round series between the Maple Leafs and the Florida Panthers, Tkachuk was a menace, and in the end, he came out on top.

Now, Tkachuk finds himself in the Stanley Cup Finals, one game away from winning his second championship in a row. Yet somehow, the Maple Leafs stay on his mind.

While speaking to reporters, the forward was asked about these playoffs and what has been the hardest part about them thus far.

Tkachuk acknowledged that the Finals were always going to be the toughest part for this Panthers team. However, outside of that, he felt like the Tampa Bay Lightning posed the toughest challenge.

This is a ridiculous statement considering the Panthers dispatched the Lightning in five games. In the Eastern Conference Finals, the Panthers beat the Carolina Hurricanes in five games as well.

However, the Toronto Maple Leafs were the only team to actually push the Panthers all the way to the brink of elimination. They made it to Game 7. Sure, the Panthers won that Game 7 in a blowout, but even the Edmonton Oilers might not push them that far.

If you are a player for the Toronto Maple Leafs, you have to feel a bit slighted by this kind of thing by now.

There is no love lost when it comes to Tkachuk, and we're sure Leafs Nation is pulling for the Edmonton Oilers to complete an epic comeback.
