According to Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet, the Toronto Maple Leafs and forward Max Domi Are closing in on a four year extension around 4 million annually.
Hearing talks between the Maple Leafs and Max Domi intensified over the last 24 hourswe should see something at four years, just under $4M AAV
It's no secret that Max Domi Was motivated to stay with Maple Leafs, he's made that much clear since the season ended but signing him for just under $4 million a season is an absolute steal
Domi, 29, appeared in 80 games for the Toronto Maple Leafs last season collecting a total of 47 points Including nine goals and adding 38 assists. He struggled when he first got to Toronto, but proved very valuable down the stretch and into the playoffs. Domi is exactly the type of player the Leafs need to keep around.
This just continues to prove that Brad Treliving is working on putting a new philosophy in place for players that wear the Maple Leaf.
Update: the extension is official 4 years at 3.75 AAV per Chris Johnston
