Mitch Marner Dispels Major Myth Concocted by Toronto Maple Leafs Fans

Former Toronto Maple Leafs forward Mitch Marner will be returning to the city on January 23rd, and there are already Maple Leafs fans making up narratives.
Mitch Marner is now a member of the Las Vegas Golden Knights, and there are a lot of Toronto Maple Leafs fans out there who are salty about it.
Luckily, those Leafs fans will have an opportunity to voice their opinion on January 23rd, when Mitch Marner returns to the city as a Golden Knight.
When the return date announcement was made, fans claimed that the Marners were in cahoots with the league to make this game the second half of a back-to-back. That way, Mitch wouldn't need to speak to the media before or after the game.
It was a narrative that was gladly spread around by Maple Leafs fans. However, it was ultimately debunked, as Marner recently sat down for a chat with Mark Masters.
Mitch Marner is excited to return to Toronto
In the video clip below, Marner said goodbye to Mark Masters, who thanked him for his time over the years. It was a really nice moment that showed Marner's gratitude for the team.
Meanwhile, he made it clear that he is disappointed that his return to Toronto is happening during a back-to-back, as he wanted to spend more time in the city.
This completely dispels some of the narratives that were going around about Marner and his family's ties to the National Hockey League.
Maple Leafs fans are upset, and that is certainly understandable. But making up narratives is why Marner left in the first place.
Between that and death threats from some of the crazies out there, one can easily deduce why Marner might feel uncomfortable raising a child in Toronto.
Hopefully, Maple Leafs fans look inward and realize that their behavior can be offputting to some people.
