Mitch Marner Reportedly Had His Home Vandalized By Toronto Maple Leafs Fans
Toronto Maple Leafs forward Mitch Marner is likely to leave the franchise in free agency, and according to Adam Wylde, he really does have every right to.
Mitch Marner is fresh off a career-high 102-point season with the Toronto Maple Leafs. Consequently, his value is at an all-time high, and it is very likely that he will leave in free agency.
Overall, the forward's time in Toronto has been plagued by poor playoff performances and even some testy moments between the team's front office and his agent, Darren Ferris.
There have also been rumblings that he cannot stomach the fans in Toronto anymore. They haven't always been kind to him, and this has weighed on his mental health.
Mitch Marner faces harassment from Maple Leafs fans
In a recent episode of "The Steve Dangle Podcast," host Adam Wylde made some huge revelations about the things Marner has endured while in Toronto.
For example, Maple Leafs fans allegedly dumped garbage on Marner's front lawn after a bad series. Something similar happened at his cottage. Additionally, it was revealed that fans have yelled at him on the street to sign contracts.
This is a guy who, after one of those series, had people dumping their garbage on his front lawn. This is a guy who, at his cottage, had guys throwing Montreal Canadiens gear and garbage on his lawn, and golf balls. But, flat out garbage. This is a guy who was walking his dog and a kid approaches him on the street and yells at him and says 'Why haven't you gotten the contract done?'
This is a guy who was allegedly robbed at gunpoint for his Range Rover with his wife in the car. They didn't know who Mitch Marner was I can understand why you have a sort of (expletive) taste in your mouth about the place that you live. And, also the schedule A bonuses, the Mike Babcock stuff, you don't forget that.

Wylde even brought up the infamous incident where Marner was held at gunpoint in his car. Not to mention, the Mike Babcock stuff will probably forever leave Marner traumatized.
A the end of the day, there are plenty of reasons for Marner to be upset with the Leafs franchise.
You can't fault him for wanting a fresh start somewhere else for the betterment of his family.
While Leafs fans may never be able to forgive him, Marner may not care. He just wants to live a happy life.
