Montreal Canadiens to Trade Carey Price: Insider Drops Surprising Update

Carey Price is a legend who will be inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame someday as the best goaltender of his generation to not win a Stanley Cup.

Over the past few seasons, Price has been unable to play due to a knee injury. During that time, however, the Montreal Canadiens have had do deal with his monster contract.

With very little time left on this deal, the Habs are in a position to trade away the contract. While Price would not play for his new team, it would still be a big deal to see him leave the franchise, officially.

Throughout the offseason, there have been very few reports about Price and his contract. Instead, the Habs have been working behind the scenes.

Now, Marco D'Amico is saying the Montreal Canadiens could have a Carey Price trade done by the beginning of the week.

This would be the end of an era in Montreal, and for a lot of fans, it will come with some bittersweet feelings that are incredibly hard to grasp.

As for the Toronto Maple Leafs, it will bring some finality to a decade of being stymied by the Montreal Canadiens' netminder.

Either way, we will probably never see Carey Price play another NHL game again, which is extremely unfortunate.

Overall, the league is never going to be same with a goaltender like Price making highlight reel saves on a nighly basis.
