Former Toronto Maple Leafs player Nikolai Kulemin has a son who recently got some amazing news that could very well shape his hockey future for years to come.
Nikolai Kulemin is a former Toronto Maple Leafs player who was actually beloved by many fans and will likely always have a place in people's hearts.
With that being said, he is now the age where his own children are playing hockey at a high level. For instance, he has a 6'2" son named Aleks who has been playing for the Don Mills Flyers AAA.
The kid has been showing tremendous potential, and this past week, he received some news that will shape his hockey future.
Aleks Kulemin to the Kingston Frontenacs
According to reporter Nick Richard, Kulemin was taken 9th overall in the OHL Priority Draft by the Kingston Frontenacs.
Leafs prospect Tyler Hopkins is also playing for the Frontenacs, which means the Maple Leafs could very well take a look at Aleks Kulemin over the next few seasons.
Aleks Kulemin, son of former Leaf Nikolai Kulemin, will join current Leafs prospect Tyler Hopkins with the Kingston Frontenacs.
Overall, the OHL is a huge step for any young hockey player, and we congratulate Kulemin on this major achievement that will certainly bring about even more opportunities.
Whether or not he makes the NHL someday, that is way too early to say.
That said, this is going to be a great way to develop as a player and perhaps even get in front of some NHL scouts.
We wish Kulemin nothing but the best with this new opportunity.
