Nashville Predators star Steven Stamkos and head coach Andrew Brunette are staying the course as the NHL trade deadline looms closer.

Despite heavy speculation linking the veteran sniper to a potential reunion in Tampa Bay or a move to Dallas, Stamkos has shut down the noise.
The 36-year-old forward confirmed there is "zero" chance he waives his full no-movement clause to leave Music City this month.
"I haven't talked to management at all about that," Stamkos said. "I love being here."
It is a massive development for a Predators team that has clawed back into the Western Conference playoff picture since December.
Nashville was dead last in the league on Dec. 1 but now sits just two points behind the Seattle Kraken for a wild card spot.
Stamkos is a huge reason for the turnaround, finding his vintage form after a sluggish start to his tenure in gold.
He currently leads the Predators with 30 goals through 59 games, already surpassing his entire output from last season.
His offensive output has been crisp lately, including a clutch goal in a recent 4-2 win against the Chicago Blackhawks.
Career-wise, the Markham native continues to climb the all-time charts, recently hitting the 600-goal milestone.
The Predators locker room remains focused on the hunt rather than a fire sale.
Andrew Brunette has leaned heavily on his veteran core to stabilize a group that struggled with consistency early on.
With two years remaining on his $8 million AAV contract after this season, Stamkos clearly views himself as a long-term fixture.
Predators postseason push depends on veteran core
The blue line has also tightened up, supporting a transition game that looked broken in October.
If Nashville remains within striking distance, expect them to stand pat or even add a piece for the stretch run.
Trading a 30-goal scorer with a full NMC was always going to be a logistical nightmare for GM Barry Trotz.
Stamkos has taken the wheel of his own destiny, and that destiny involves a playoff chase in Tennessee.
