Toronto Maple Leafs forward Scott Laughton has been dealing with injuries this season, but now, it appears as though he is closer than ever to a return.

Since the preseason, Scott Laughton has been dealing with an injury that has ultimately kept him out of the Toronto Maple Leafs' lineup.
This has led to a revolving door of centers on the fourth line, and with the team lacking consistency to start the season, Laughton is certainly missed.
Thankfully, the forward has been active at practice over the last week or so, and it has made it seem like the center is days away from a return.

When will Scott Laughton return to the Maple Leafs?

On Tuesday, the Leafs were on the ice for practice in Toronto, and Laughton was on the ice yet again, albeit with a twist.
According to Mark Masters, Laughton was in a regular sweater. This is a departure from the last few days, when he has been amongst the team's upcoming scratches.
In fact, Laughton found himself on the fourth line at practice today, which is absolutely huge. He had Max Domi on his left and Steven Lorentz on his right.
Unfortunately, this came at the expense of guys like Easton Cowan, Sammy Blais, and Calle Jarnkrok, who are expected to be scratches.

With Laughton back in the lineup, we could see Sammy Blais or even Easton Cowan get sent down to the AHL.
Tomorrow, we will have some answers, but by all accounts, we may get to see Laughton's debut on Wednesday night against the Utah Mammoth.
