With the Toronto Maple Leafs experiencing a slow start to the season, general manager Brad Treliving is facing pressure to make a major move.

Everyone understands at this point that the Toronto Maple Leafs have not been good so far this season. In fact, they have been downright mediocre.
The team needs an injection of offense, defense, and goaltending. The injuries are piling up, and with two back-to-backs in a row, it has been tough for the team to get momentum going.
Their captain, Auston Matthews, has struggled throughout the early stages of the regular season. It's been tough for him to get it going, and the absence of Mitch Marner is creating serious problems.

Chris Johnston gives the latest inside the Toronto Maple Leafs

This begs the question: should the Maple Leafs hit the panic button? After all, we are 11 games into the NHL season, and the team has no identity.
Well, according to Chris Johnston, management, Brad Treliving included, is refusing to hit the panic button just yet, for one reason in particular.
Quite simply, the team believes it has the players to get it done. The issue is that they just haven't been able to execute at a high level.
Despite the sluggish start Leafs management isn't showing much concern at this point. They've seen slow starts before and typically turned things around with a strong November, so there's some patience there.

Even though sitting at .500 doesn't feel great, and the loss in Columbus was frustrating, they didn't view that game as a total mess - more so a few glaring mistakes, some bad turnovers, odd-man rushes, and not enough saves to stay in it. From a process standpoint, they still feel the team is in a decent spot.

Even though the outside noise might be starting to pick up, inside the organization it doesn't sound like there's any real panic yet.

This weekend, the Leafs are set to face off against the Philadelphia Flyers, and on Monday, they will play the Pittsburgh Penguins.
Overall, this will serve as a good test of what the team can do. The Flyers are struggling, and the Penguins are playing solid hockey.
If they can string together a couple of wins, then perhaps the Leafs are finally on their way to getting things together.
