The Toronto Maple Leafs suffered another brutal playoff failure in 2025, and while some members of management survived, others weren't so lucky.
For nine straight seasons, the Toronto Maple Leafs have found themselves in the Stanley Cup Playoffs, but in 2025 they made it past the first round for just the second time, failing to go beyond that in a major disappointment for MLSE and the Maple Leafs fans.
Unsurprisingly, that has led to some big changes, with the organization moving on from President Brendan Shanahan after 11 years and nine playoff disappointments at the helm of the team.
That left many wondering about the rest of the front office, and despite some speculation, NHL Insider Elliotte Friedman has revealed the fate of General Manager Brad Treliving.
According to Friedman, Treliving, who has only been in the role for two seasons after being fired by the Calgary Flames will remain as the GM moving forward, but following plenty of changes in his time in the role, it's safe to say that he may be on the hot seat in the coming years.
Whether that sees any significant change and improvement on the ice, only time will tell, but after so many failures, it was time for MLSE and the Maple Leafs to move on from Shanahan in his role, and now, they look to replace him as they try to find a way to go deep in the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
