Toronto Maple Leafs announce Mark Giordano has suffered a tragic loss
Mark Giordano is one of the most respected hockey players in the National Hockey League. Giordano is currently the oldest player in the league and the only player over the age of 40. Currently Giordano is living out a boyhood dream of playing close to home in front of friends and family.
For the last 2+ seasons Giordano has had the opportunity to play in front of friends and family on a nightly basis, something which was more difficult in Calgary and Seattle. This has allowed Mark's father to take in many more games.
Unfortunately for the Giordano Family, today Mark's father Paul passed away. The Maple Leafs shared the following on their official X account.
The Toronto Maple Leafs are deeply saddened to announce the sudden passing of Paul Giordano, father of defenceman Mark Giordano, on Thursday night. Our prayers are with Mark and his family during this incredibly difficult time and we ask for their privacy.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Giordano Family at this difficult time.
