Toronto Maple Leafs fans have been patiently waiting to see whether or not the team would sign forward Jack Roslovic, who has yet to receive a contract.

After scoring 22 goals and 39 points last season, fans figured he would be the perfect candidate for a new deal. However, he has effectively been left behind.

Teams like the Maple Leafs, Vancouver Canucks, and even the Carolina Hurricanes have all shown immense interest in the forward, yet nothing has transpired.

According to Thomas Drance of The Athletic, the Vancouver Canucks used to be the most interested party in Roslovic. However, they have since cooled off and don't seem as keen on him anymore.

Overall, this is good news for the Toronto Maple Leafs, who will not have as much competition for the forward, should they decide to go down that route.

There has been discourse about whether or not Roslovic really is a good fit for the Leafs, especially when you take into consideration the fact that the team already has a whole slew of bottom-six forwards.

Ultimately, it may not make sense for the Maple Leafs to go after him right now, which could put Roslovic in a situation where he has to play overseas.

He is a great player, and he should get an opportunity soon. Unfortunately, those opportunities are not being presented.
