Toronto Maple Leafs Goaltender Makes a Big Return in Time for Game 4 Against the Panthers
The Toronto Maple Leafs are going to be taking on the Florida Panthers in Game 4 tonight, and the fans are excited to see who the backup goalie is going to be.
Of course, with Anthony Stolarz out of the lineup, the Toronto Maple Leafs have had to put a few more options in the lineup.
Sure, Joseph Woll is the starting goaltender, but you need a good backup to give yourself a chance to win in case an injury happens.
In Game 1, that backup was Dennis Hildeby. However, in Game 2, the backup was Matt Murray, and that was how it was to remain until Anthony Stolarz returned to the lineup.
However, before Game 3, Murray was sick, and Hildeby had to come back in and be the backup all over again.
Matt Murray to backup Joseph Woll
According to reporter Luke Fox, the Toronto Maple Leafs have announced that Matt Murray will, indeed, be the backup goaltender again for Game 4.
He is no longer sick, which means he can finally move on and provide Joseph Woll with some relief, if need be.
At the end of the day, the Toronto Maple Leafs are in desperate need of a win tonight, otherwise, this series is going to go to a sixth game.
Going up 3-1 in the series would be extremely advantageous. However, if this gets tied up again, then there could be some real problems afoot.
While it is unlikely that we see Matt Murray in the net, you never know when you think of how Woll is playing right about now.
Hopefully, the Maple Leafs are able to keep themselves going and get that critical third win of the entire series.
