Toronto Maple Leafs Provide First Positive Update on Anthony Stolarz
Toronto Maple Leafs goaltender Anthony Stolarz has been out of the lineup since Game 1 after taking an elbow to the head from Florida Panthers star Sam Bennett.
As all Maple Leafs fans already know, Anthony Stolarz was taken out by Sam Bennett in Game 1 against the Florida Panthers.
Overall, it was a terrible thing to have happen especially when you consider how solid Stolarz has played throughout the postseason.
Since that time, there has been all sorts of speculation that the goaltender has a concussion and will have to miss a few games before returning to the lineup.
Last night, Joseph Woll had a bad game, allowing five goals on 36 shots. This had fans hoping and praying that Stolarz can return soon.
Today at practice, head coach Craig Berube spoke to reporters and actually provided them with a positive update.
Essentially, Stolarz is doing better and is progressing quite nicely. Unfortunately, he has not skated with the team which is a disappointment.
When will Anthony Stolarz return to the Toronto Maple Leafs?
If the goaltender really is in concussion protocol, then he will have to wait until Wednesday before he can return and that is if he is healthy enough.
Wednesday would be Game 5 and there is a chance the series will be tied up by then. Although, on the flipside, the Leafs could be up 3-1.
Whatever the case may be, you never want to rush a guy back after a head injury. That is a recipe for disaster.
We wish the goaltender the best moving forward and we are hopeful that he can be back at 100 percent sooner rather than later.
