William Nylander Delivers Not-So-Subtle Hint at Who the Maple Leafs Should Trade For

Toronto Maple Leafs forward William Nylander wants the best for his team, and with the Leafs looking to make a trade, he appears to have a suggestion for his GM.
William Nylander has been one of the best players on the Toronto Maple Leafs this season, as he has managed 20 points in just 11 games.
Overall, Nylander has been sensational, but the Leafs could always use more offense, and a trade is something that the Leafs have been working on.
At the end of the day, the Maple Leafs don't have a ton of assets, so making a trade is going to be difficult for general manager Brad Treliving. That doesn't mean he isn't going to try.
William Nylander likes Nick Schmaltz
As for William Nylander, this past week, he spoke to the media about his former Bantam AAA teammate, Nick Schmaltz, who plays for the Utah Mammoth.
Nylander's comments were very strong, as he revealed just how good a player Schmaltz is. In fact, one could say that this was an indirect way for Nylander to push Treliving into Schmaltz's direction.
"He's one of the most underrated players, I think, in the league," Nylander said. "He's unbelievable, actually."
Schmaltz has 18 points in 14 games so far this season, which is solid, and would put him on pace for over 90 points.
This would be a career year for Schmaltz if that turned out to be the case, although we do expect him to slow down quite a bit going forward.
The Leafs defeated the Utah Mammoth earlier this week by a score of 5-3, and this has given Toronto its first three-game winning streak of the season thus far.
Only time will tell whether or not the Maple Leafs can keep the party going this weekend as they look to play the Boston Bruins and the Carolina Hurricanes.
